Palm Coast

Finally, We're here! Palm Coast, Florida fishing with my friend Capt Chris Hererra. Palm Coast has an awesome inshore fishery and we are here with my buddies Max and Chad to catch as many specieas as we can. 

After an early morning launch, it's time to lower the Motor Guide and get to work!

These guys are ready! It sure didn't take long. As soon as we got on the spot, 

Chad and Max started putting fish in the boat.

For the next 45 minutes, these guys caught everything that swam by.... 

Blue fish, Black Drum, Trout and Sea Bass! It was game on!

At the next stop it was Flounder, Lady fish and Jacks.

Smile for the camera..... and fix your hat.

Lady fish make great redfish bait, as Chad soon found out!

My hand is sore from so many Slimy 5's today!

Max and Chad caught 9 species of fish, a big sting ray and even a turtle today! Like I said if it swam by, they caught it. Big Slimy 5's to my buddy Capt Chris Hererra for not only putting us on the fish but his positive attitude and kid friendly fishing techniques as well.

Guatemala

Another trip to Guatemala. I love it here! Adventure is at every turn!

 Awesome fishing, volcanoes, beautiful lakes, Myan Ruins, rich history and culture...

it's all here in Guatemala!  

Antigua....... There's just no place in the world like it. Surrounded by volcanos, Antigua's stone streets, unique arcitecture, great food and charming people create a vistor's paradise. Once you travel to Antigua, you'll find yourself coming back year after year...... 

 

 

 

 

 

The top of the Pacaya Volcano. It's sure changed a lot since the last major eruption a few years ago! 

 

 

Nothing like sitting in the shade with an ice cold Coke in the bottle! They just taste better here! 

 

 

I'm so fortunate to have so many great friends here in Guatemala. My good friend Juan Carlos, of V & C Tours, hooked us up with a private home, Qanajuyu, on Lake Atitlan, only accessable by boat! 

 

 

What a great place to just take it easy...... 

 

 

Every meal was extraodinary thanks to Chef Luis! 

 

 

A little too hazy to see the volcano peaks across the lake, but the sunsets were awesome!

Now this is my kind of place! Waterfront on all sides, accessable to all of the best fishing holes.... It's got it all! 

 

 

Lots of home made vessels on the lake workin' the waters.......... 

 

 

There's just no place like a hammock in the shade to kick back in the breeze for the afternoon. 

 

 

I even worked in a kayak tour, with an expert canoeist doing most of the work! 

 

 

I watched this kid fish hard, with a hand line, up and down the bulk head for about an hour before he was finally rewarded with a nice catch!

 

Big Slimy 5's! I'd say a fisherman like this deserves a Salt Life hat for his efforts! 

 

 

It amazes me everytime I watch these ladies work... it's unbelievable what they create.

Notice the sacrificial stones at the base of the temple. Contrary to what is often portraid in films, Human sacrifices were made on these sacred stones not on the top of the temple.

 

 

 

It is so much to take in.

You can view the tops of the other temples protruding from the Jungle. An aerial views of the temples shows that they are placed in the same pattern as the Big Dipper (Astronomy)

 

Ending the day and the trip on a private cabana on Lake Peten Itza. What a trip! Just what I needed to relax, re-group, and re-focus on good times, new adventures and the Salt Life ahead!
