The bite was on fire Saturday about 70 miles offshore of Fernandina Beach as team Liquid Diet fished the gulf steam in the Fernandina Bluewater Shootout.
With 3-5 foot seas the conditions were less than ideal, but team "Liquid
Diet" still found the fish.
By the time they had the second line in the
water they were already hooked up to a nice mahi. That was followed 15 min later by a hungry wahoo that soon found itself taking an ice bath in the 34'
fountains fish box. The Mahi bite continued throughout the day and luckily
the team raced home and discovered their catch was good enough for 2nd overall.
