From Wheels to Reels: Martino Motorsports Takes on the Gulf of Mexico

Reprinted from Drag Racing Edge
https://dragracingedge.com

Your 2018 PDRA World Champions Tom and Ryan Martino of Martino Motorsports (Youngstown, Ohio) took advantage of a three week break in their 2019 NHRA and PDRA season schedules to visit with fellow Team Salt Life member Captain Rob Gorta for a once in a lifetime fishing experience in the Gulf of Mexico which brought in 25+ monster sized red drums!

“Fishing for red fish is much like racing…  It takes strong focus, patience, and most importantly a quick reaction time.  If you react too soon or too late, you probably just lost your bait and likely the biggest catch of your lifetime”, states Tom Martino.

“Our crew chief for the day, Captain Rob, put us right on the fish and it was up to us to hook and reel these fierce fish to the boat.  Surprisingly enough, my dad and I never tangled lines, but it’s still up for debate on who landed more fish and who’s catch was the biggest”, adds Ryan Martino.

You can watch the Martinos’ highlight reel from this trip on their YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/martinomotorsports and decide for yourself!

2019 marks the Martinos’ fifth season partnered with everyone’s favorite lifestyle brand, Salt Life.

“We utilized Salt Life’s newest lines of long sleeve performance tees, hybrid shorts, hats, and cutting edge fashion sunglasses for this 95+ degree trip.  People often see us walking around with these same outfits at the race track and always comment, ‘I love that outfit, but aren’t you hot?’  We can speak from personal experience that Salt Life is truly a cut above the competition.  Not only does Salt Life keep us in style from sun up to sun down, but their performance SLX UVAPOR lines are engineered to provide UV30 sun protection and come equipped with a built in cooling / ventilation system to keep us cool and dry in any condition, land and/or water”, states Ryan.

“We highly recommend that you ‘sea’ what you’ve been missing by visiting Salt Life’s online retail store at www.SaltLife.com and/or visit one of Salt Life’s seven retail store locations throughout Florida, California, and Georgia to experience the ‘coolest’ fashion tailored for any condition!”, concludes Tom.
